Graduates with international experience fare much better on the job market, according to the results of a study released Monday measuring the impact of the Erasmus student exchange program in the European Union (EU).

The Erasmus Impact Study shows that young people who study or train abroad not only gain knowledge in specific disciplines, but also strengthen key transversal skills which are highly valued by employers.

"They are half as likely to experience long-term unemployment compared with those who have not studied or trained abroad and, five years after graduation, their unemployment rate is 23 percent lower," said the study.

"The message is clear: if you study or train abroad, you are more likely to increase your job prospects. The new Erasmus Plus program will offer EU grants to four million people between 2014 and 2020, allowing them to experience life in another country through studies, training, teaching or volunteering," Androulla Vassiliou, European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth, told a press conference in Brussels.

The report reveals that more than one in three Erasmus trainees is offered a position at the enterprise where they do their traineeship.

Erasmus trainees are also more entrepreneurial than their stay-at-home counterparts: one in 10 has started their own company and more than three out of four plan to, or can imagine doing so. They can also expect faster career advancement: staff with international experience are given greater professional responsibility, according to 64 percent of employers.

The study is the largest of its kind and received feedback from nearly 80,000 respondents, including students and businesses. Erasmus Plus, the new program for education, training, youth and sport, was launched in January 2014 with a total budget of nearly 15 billion euros (19.28 billion U.S. dollars) for the next seven years.

Article 1The Chinese government establishes the "Chinese Government Scholarship" for foreign students to study in China.

The Chinese Government Scholarship includes undergraduate scholarship, graduate scholarship and advance students' scholarship.

The Ministry ofEducation, in accordance with real needs, has established other scholarships for special research or training.

Article 2The Ministry of Education formulates the plan onenrolling foreign students who receive the Chinese Government Scholarship, inaccordance with relevant treaties signed between the Chinese Government and foreign countries and the need of exchanges between China and other countries.

Article 3 Foreign students

receiving the Chinese Government Scholarship to study in China should accept annual assessment on the scholarship qualification. The assessment work will be conducted by higher education institutions in accordance with relevant rules. For those foreign studentswho fail to pass the assessment, their qualification to enjoy the Chinese Government Scholarship will be suspended or canceled in accordance with the rules.

Article 4 Local governments and higher-learning institutions have the right to solely or jointly establish scholarships for foreign studentsin accordance with real needs. Upon obtaining permission from the higher education institutions and provincial administrative department for education,Chinese and foreign enterprises, institutions, social organizations or othersocial bodies and individuals can also set up scholarships for foreign students, with no irrational conditions added.

The important memorandum has been arrangedan official ceremony in this historic school. AT-China Education staffs inMalaysia all attended this ceremony since a minister was invited to be awatcher. To pay the respect to minister, everybody arrived one hour earlierthan minister.

While waiting for minister's arrival, thepersons from both sides start interaction by greeting, discussing this event, takingphoto...etc. The teachers in this school were chatting about their background,students and religion. The interaction is so successful that everybody feeltime flees.

Once minister arrived, AT CHINA EDUCATIONdirectors walked out immediately to welcome minister. The minister shaked handsgladly with them.

The ceremony began once minister arrived. Both sides delivered the speech about this projects. Yi-Ping wasrepresenting AT CHINA EDUCATION. Then minister also spoke about this project. He honored the achievement of China and encouraged these students tostudy in China.

The signing of menorandum was afterminister's speech. Both signed the memo as usual then minister had to sign as awatcher. The ceremony ended with glee and unexpected feast.

2014 Annual Meetingof China Association for International Education (CAFSA) held in LiaoningUniversity

On 23 July, the 2014 Annual Meeting of China Association forInternational Education (CAFSA) held in Liaoning University. Leaders of theInternational Department of Chinese Ministry of Education, domestic experts andscholars, education department of each province, all about 600 educatorsparticipated in the meeting.

In the first session, the president of Liaoning University, ZhouHaobo, Vice director-general of Education Department of Liaoning Province, LiuJinghui, the secretary-general of China Scholarship Council and Fangjun, vicedirector of International Department of Chinese Ministry of Education gave thespeech, present the achievement that have been got in the past year and pointsout the work direction of 2015.

In the second session, award ceremony was held to excellenteducators and departments that work for International Education. Leaders of theInternational Department of Chinese Ministry of Education expressed highlyappreciation to award-winners’ efforts in the work.

In the afternoon, Chen Long, vice president of Jiangsu University,Wang Luxin, deputy party secretary of Beijing Language and Culture University,Wang Qi, vice president of Shenyang Aerospace University and Wang Qinghe, vicepresident of Changchun University of Science and Technology made a speech onhow to promote university internationalization based on their own workexperience.

AT0086 also attended this annual meeting and shared experience onhow to increase international enrollment and optimize the structure ofinternational students’ country of origin, based on the experience of Europeanand American College, AT0086, and the unique environment of China as well,which got highly appreciation by the university.
